AT&T Wireless Launches the Ogo Device

AT&T Wireless partnered with several wireless technology vendors to design, manufacture and launch a wireless data device.  IXI Mobile, from Israel was asked to build a device from the ground up to AT&T specifications.  This request included all the device hardware including the display and keyboard as well as the internal circuitry and supporting firmware.  In addition it also required on-device software wizards that allowed a customer to purchase an inactive device and then self-activate onto the AT&T network directly from the device.  These capabilities not only required development of wireless integration such as over-the-air activation, but also required deep integration with IT systems to capture and validate customer and payment information.  Device self-activation was an industry first and was the result of extensive collaboration between AT&T business, technology and offshore vendors.  Bridge Mobility team members worked in close support by providing the account management expertise necessary to tie together these disparate resources.
